Why is killing oneself so easy? If it was hard, suicides will be less prevalent. I am not saying that people who kill themselves are cowards or weak. I just think that they chose the easier path. People always want to choose the easier path. The one that requires less work. But sometimes, life only offers you only one choice and to live that choice is harder than killing yourself. Facing failure is hard. Facing rejection is hard. Being responsible, not only for yourself, but others too, is hard. Not feeling loved is hard. Not feeling wanted is hard. Loneliness in all these situations make it harder. The mind does not like such torture. It always looks for an easy escape; and death feels like the sweet sweet release from it. Death is the relief from life. Death is the relief from all the problems in life. People will mourn you for a week or two. Maybe even miss your presence that they did not acknowledge when you were alive. But that is not your problem anymore. You solved all your problems on the day of your death. Now you don’t feel the torture on your mind or your body. Now you don’t feel anything.

The premise of this argument is flawed because it assumes that suicide is as prevalent as flu in the society. Suicide involves a more complex psychology than merely relieving oneself of pain. Though some cases of suicides are due to the person taking the easier path, not all cases are the same. We cannot assume that since a person decided to take their life, they didn’t value their life as much as we do, or that they chose the easier path. To condemn suicide, we have to assess the situations and environments that led the person to have the thought of taking their life in the first place, and not blame them.

However, I think whatever reason you find as the cause, it can be boiled down to choosing the easier path. I would like to know reasons that could not be traced to just choosing the easier paths. If you find any, it can help me better my understanding of the human psychology.LikeLike

First, that is not the conclusion of the post. The post is just an argument why some people think about killing themselves.
Second, yes. I wrote it. So, I approved it.
Third, there is no proof of existence after death. Just like there is no proof for vampires. Every argument I’ve encountered for afterlife is baseless.
